<p>In the spirit of the season of giving, ProBalance Physical Therapy &amp; Pilates will be offering Pilates classes on the mat and on apparatus (reformers/towers) at our second studio at 2213 Harbor Bay Parkway where 100% of all proceeds will go to local organizations/charities that benefit education.</p>
<p>Email <strong>info@probalancept.com</strong> to reserve a spot and if you are planning on bringing a friend, let us know. We&#8217;ll open up more classes if demand is there. Class size for apparatus is limited to 5 per class.</p>
<p>Current Classes are scheduled for:<br />
Monday 12/26 at 3pm, 4pm<br />
Tues 12/27 at 11am, 12pm<br />
Wed 12/28 at 5pm<br />
Thur 12/29 at 8am, 9am</p>
<p>These Charity Pilates Classes will be 40 minutes long with a suggested donation of $20 per class. The classes are open to all levels.</p>
<p>100% of Proceeds will go to charities/organizations such as:<br />
Alameda Education Foundation, Alameda Boys and Girls Club, Manzanita SEED elementary, etc.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>ProBalance is pleased to announce that we are expanding to a second location after overwhelming requests for further services, including Pilates group classes that are geared towards special populations.  Expanded classes on mat and apparatus will include:  Pilates for Rotational Sports/Golfers, Pilates for Healthy Backs &amp; Knees, TRX, Bone Builders Pilates (geared for individuals with low bone density), Prenatal/Postpartum classes, and many more.  We will even have an Independent Studio membership option for those who know how to workout safely on the Pilates apparatus and would like an affordable and flexible option.</p>
<p>Stay tuned for the grand opening in January.  The new location is at <strong><a title="Map" href="http://tinyurl.com/2213HBPKWY">2213 Harbor Bay Parkway, Alameda</a>.</strong>  We will continue to offer our specialized physical therapy and Pilates services at the existing location at450 Park St. Ste 100B inAlameda.</p>

<p>For people who want to boost their fat burning during a Pilates session, we suggest you ask your instructor about integrating interval training into your workout.  We have a great, portable piece of equipment called the X-iser (<a title="Xiser" href="http://tinyurl.com/xiser60" target="_blank">http://tinyurl.com/xiser60</a>) that is a low impact way to reproduce a running motion which is easy on the knees and on the spine and works on balance as well as getting a killer workout.  While the X-iser looks like those cheap mini-steppers you see on infomercials, it is far from that.  It is a very well made machine designed specifically for sprint interval training.</p>
<p>What works great within our studio is to do a short Pilates warm up then 60 seconds on the X-iser.  The goal is to go all out like a sprint so that at the end of 60 seconds, you don&#8217;t have enough energy to go any longer.  After that sprint, we do a minimum 4 minute recovery of more Pilates exercises, integrating flexibility, movement retraining, toning, and then we repeat that cycle 3 more times during the session.</p>
<p>The result:  a cardio/fat blasting session combined with the toning, flexibility, and core strengthening Pilates session that will improve how well you move, how long you can move, how much can you move, and how good you&#8217;ll look while you move.</p>
